Ariton defeats Straughn in homecoming game

By Christina Faulkner

It was a big night for the Ariton Purple Cats as they handed the Straughn Tigers their first loss of the season in addition to celebrating homecoming.

During the first quarter Ariton was able to hold Straughn to a scoreless quarter while scoring a touchdown themselves. However, during the second quarter, Straughn seemed to come back with some vigor, scoring two touchdowns. Still, they were no match for the Purple Cats who managed to leave the field at halftime leading 27-14.
