County Employees to Benefit from 15% COLA

By Christina Faulkner

Dale County employees and retirees will see some relief from increasing inflation in September. On Tuesday, during its regularly held meeting, the Dale County Commission, in two separate actions, approved a 15% Cost of Living increase (COLA) for all county employees and a one-time lump sum payment to retirees as a longevity bonus.

The 15% COLA is a $700,000 annual budget adjustment for the county and includes the county’s portion of employee benefit packages. The longevity bonus resulted in a $38,456 budget adjustment.
