Ozark Dairy Queen Hosts Alabama Auto Enthusiasts Cruise In

By Christopher Mobley

Loud pipes, hot rods, and a whole lot of chrome brought out the community this past Saturday for the Alabama Auto Enthusiasts’ “Dairy Queen Cruise in Fundraiser.”

Located at the local Dairy Queen, spectators and fellow enthusiasts of all ages came together to enjoy cool cars on a cool night. From classic cars, to fresh off the lot; from American muscle, to smart cars; there was something for everyone to enjoy. A great opportunity for locals to not only enjoy the cars, but also come together and interact with their fellow neighbors.

“A Lot of people don’t realize that it’s also a stress reliever,” said Zain Momin, owner of the local Dairy Queen that hosted the event. “It really helps people out, especially when they’re dealing with stuff internally. Just to have something to do, such as cars, or any hobby. We’re just trying to spread that love, and get it out there.”

Alabama Auto Enthusiasts is a group dedicated to providing a forum and safe place for auto enthusiasts in the area to schedule, plan and attend car shows in multiple cities in Alabama, including surrounding cities in the Wiregrass Area.

After enjoying the turnout in their most recent stop in Ozark, the founder hopes to have more events in the area.

“We might turn this event into a monthly thing if everything goes smoothly,” said Shayne Glenn, founder of the Alabama Auto Enthusiasts group. “In the future we may do some more fundraisers together for cancer patients and things like that. It’s really endless possibilities and things we can do when we come together.”

If you missed this past weekend’s event and want to bring your best car out next time, or simply want to spectate, Alabama Auto Enthusiasts can be found on Facebook and Instagram (@AlabamaAutoEnthusiasts), where they often post announcements for their events.
