United Way Bus Tour Makes Stop at VBAS

Reaching the halfway point in their tour of the six-county service area, the United Way representatives arrived to cheers from the Ariton and G.W. Long High School Cheerleaders and music performed by the Carroll High School Jazz Band.

Farm-City Week is November 18-24; Planning Underway

Planning for the events preceding Farm-City week is well underway, with the Farm-City Committee meeting at the Hoppergrass on Wednesday, September 28, to work on finalizing dates and plans as they move into the final month of preparations. The annual celebration recognized Thanksgiving week is preceded by several events designed to bring together rural and urban residents in an effort to broaden the understanding of how the collaboration of farmers and city workers provide to meet the needs of all.

Ozark Dale County Library Will Celebrate Grand Opening October 25

After months of hard work planning, packing, shelving, and organizing, the Ozark Dale County Library will have a grand opening celebration on Tuesday, October 25, at 10 a.m. at their new location at 296 North Union Avenue in Ozark. An official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. that afternoon with the Ozark Area Chamber of Commerce and significant dignitaries officiating. The library’s Board of Trustees and staff invite everyone to come out and enjoy a day filled with special activities.

The Class 2A Number 9 ranked G. W. Long Rebels defeated Cottonwood 35-28 Friday, October 7, in a Class 2A, Region 2 matchup. Long scored with less than a minute left in the game off a 10-yard touchdown run by Brayden Whitehead for a go-ahead score and the win.

Joycelyn Tinker Crowned 2022-23 Miss ESCC

Ms. Joycelyn Tinker will serve Enterprise State Community College as its 2022-23 Miss ESCC.

Tinker was chosen to wear the crown out of eight contestants and was also named Most Photogenic during the Miss ESCC pageant held Thursday, October 6. She was crowned by the 2021-22 Miss ESCC Ruby Garcia.

Cawley Joining Recruitment Team at ESCC/AAC in Ozark

Caitlin Cawley has been named the new recruiter for the Alabama Aviation College, a unit of Enterprise State Community College.

Cawley began serving as a recruiter on Oct. 3, 2022. She joins ESCC’s Director of Recruiting, Emily Baker, and Katie Sawyer, a recruiter for the Enterprise campus.
